Local Limelight

If you’re not from Minneapolis, your exposure to the DIY scene in Minneapolis is likely slim. If you’re not from Baltimore, or San Francisco, or Richmond, the same thing applies. Local Limelight provides the opportunity to showcase a curated selection of current and previous local bands from a different US scene each week - part punk/screamo/hardcore genres, with a few indie acts thrown in. Each episode will center around one different US scene. In a constant era of major label backed productions, Local Limelight gives the opportunity to highlight the little man (with a few larger acts thrown in as well.) Though this would be my third season running this show, I still constantly find myself discovering new scenes and artists to profile. Local Limelight is primarily a music based radio show, with some verbal commentary on the history of the music scene, etc. Sample Playlist - Philadelphia Episode: Workhorse - Friendship Paloma - Flatwaves Cut Your Bangs - Radiator Hospital Seeing Stars - Cigarettes for Breakfast Susan - Bleary Eyed Four Years - Costanza Watching Blue//Watching Orange - The Civil War in France ...so They Left Me At a Gas Station - Marietta Engulf - Spirit Furnace Heaven's Feel - Pale Shade douglasland.v1 - Her New Knife double apple - They Are Gutting A Body Of Water Electric Suits and Cowboy Boots - An Albatross Upon This Tidal Wave of Young Blood - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Stare - Pyre Messes Of Men - mewithoutyou 104 Degrees - Slaughter Beach, Dog
