Atmospheric, Ambient, and Electronic Music

This radio show will delve into different genres of atmospheric and ambient music across electronic and acoustic genres. Artists in the realm of Brian Eno, Harold Budd, L'rain, Ethel Cain, Keith Fullerton Whitman, and The Microphones will be featured, and shows will have a designated theme. For example, one show may focus on experimental spatial audio, another might focus on acoustic tracks, and one show might focus on synthesizer-heavy artists. I will contextualize the shows with the history of the technologies used, the artist's background, and related genres and artists in between tracks. The goal of the show is to present the ambient/atmostpheric genre in an approachable and engaging way, as well as to demonstrate how untraditional genres, even those which may seem like 'noise,' are complex, expressive, and valuable.
